Terms and Conditions

These terms apply to new bookings confirmed on or after the effective date. They do not retrospectively replace terms already accepted for an existing booking unless the guest and Skeleton Coast Fishing Adventures and Tours CC agree otherwise in writing.

1 Scope and booking information

Your quotation identifies the tour, travel dates, participants, total price, included services and exclusions. Read it together with the itinerary and these terms before accepting. Request written clarification if any documents disagree. Optional activities, meals, fuel, permits and equipment are included only where your quotation expressly lists them.

2 Part-payments and payment deadlines

For Angola sightseeing and fishing tours, the part-payment is R1,000 per person and the remaining balance is due 30 days before departure. For Namibia day fishing and fishing packages including accommodation, the part-payment is R1,000 per person and the remaining balance is due 30 days before arrival. Part-payments are credited against the total booking price and are not additional fees.

A booking is reserved once we receive the required part-payment and issue written confirmation. Bookings made within 30 days of departure or arrival require full payment once availability and acceptance are confirmed.

After the R1,000 per-person part-payment, the remaining balance may be paid in monthly instalments at no additional fee. The exact instalment amounts and payment dates must be agreed in writing and recorded in the quotation. The full balance remains due by the applicable 30-day deadline. Paying by instalments does not limit any cancellation amount otherwise payable under these terms.

If payment is overdue, we will give written notice allowing 7 working days to pay before cancelling the booking. A working day is Monday to Friday, excluding Namibian public holidays.

3 Tour dates transfers and substitutions

The advertised departure date is the scheduled departure date for the tour. Your written booking confirmation records that date.

Date transfers and guest substitutions are allowed subject to availability and written confirmation. Any applicable charge will be disclosed and must be agreed before the transfer or substitution proceeds.

4 Preparation and participation

Provide accurate participant and vehicle information. Tell us privately about requirements relevant to safe participation so we can discuss suitability before accepting the booking. Self-drive guests remain responsible for their vehicle, driving, documents and the equipment specified in the preparation information. Follow safety instructions and applicable local rules. Fishing outcomes, wildlife sightings and access to a particular natural location cannot be guaranteed.

5 Cancellation by the guest

Submit cancellation in writing to info@skeletoncoast.tours. Keep proof of delivery; we will acknowledge receipt. Notice is calculated using calendar days before the booked start date.

More than 60 days before the booked start date: the R1,000 per-person part-payment is retained. From 60 to 31 days inclusive: the cancellation charge is 50% of the total cancelled tour price. From 30 days before the booked start date through departure, or for a no-show: the cancellation charge is 100% of the total cancelled tour price.

All payments already received are credited against the applicable cancellation charge; the part-payment is not added a second time. If the charge exceeds the amount already paid, the balance of that charge remains payable. Instalment payments do not cap cancellation liability at the amount paid to date.

We will make reasonable efforts to resell the cancelled guest place, but resale cannot be guaranteed. Any successful replacement booking will be considered when calculating the cancellation charge and any refund. We will also account for recoverable costs and any mandatory customer rights. We do not add accommodation-supplier cancellation charges under our current arrangements.

Where the calculation results in a refund, the refund will be paid within 7 working days after the refund amount has been agreed in writing.

6 Cancellation or major changes by SCFAT

If we cancel because we cannot supply the tour for an operational reason, we will offer a choice between an agreed alternative and a refund of payments for the cancelled services. Guest-cancellation charges will not be applied to a cancellation by us. An agreed refund will be paid within 7 working days after the refund amount has been agreed in writing.

Where weather, access or safety requires a route change, we will explain the change and make reasonable efforts to provide a comparable experience. For a substantial change before departure, we will explain the available options and any refund rights. For events outside either party's control, we will communicate promptly, account for services supplied and recoveries received, and apply these terms subject to mandatory customer rights.

7 Insurance and responsibility

We advise guests to obtain suitable medical, evacuation, cancellation and vehicle cover and to check the policy exclusions for the planned activities and countries. Insurance is recommended, not a condition of booking or participation. Insurance does not replace our own duties. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or customer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

8 Concerns and booking records

Raise a concern with the guide as soon as reasonably possible so we can try to resolve it. Follow up at info@skeletoncoast.tours with your booking reference and relevant details. We will give a written response and explain the next steps.

The accepted quotation and the version of these terms supplied with the booking should be retained with each booking. Later website changes do not silently alter an existing agreement.
