THE FORMAT
Our next 10-day fishing tour runs from 1–10 November 2026. Five further departures are planned for 2027. The focus is the remote coastal fishing experience around the Flamingo / Vanessa region rather than trying to turn the trip into a rushed sightseeing checklist.
The exact route, camp sequence, vehicle requirements and support format are confirmed for the selected departure before booking.
Plan for 12 days overall: the brochure includes a separate arrival day and homeward departure day around the 10 days in Angola. Confirm meeting and travel dates when booking.

YOUR ROUTE
10 days in Angola, 12 days overall. Arrive at Palmeiras Lodge the day before for the 17:00–18:00 briefing. Depart for home the day after returning to Oshikango. Timing and route sequence may change with weather, tides, border procedures and local access.
Download the tour brochure (PDF, 14.0 MB)The following morning, cross into Angola and travel through the southern highlands towards Lubango and Humpata. Continue to the Serra da Leba area for the first night in Angola.
Descend Serra da Leba towards the desert and replenish supplies in Namibe before continuing to the coast. Settle into camp and, conditions permitting, enjoy the first afternoon fishing session.
Dedicate a full day to surf fishing. Exact fishing areas and target species are selected according to season, water temperature, sea conditions and local knowledge.
Travel south through Tombua and onto the increasingly remote coastline. Fish selected stretches en route before reaching the Vanessa Shipwreck for a wild camp beside the Atlantic.
Spend a full day beach fishing on the Flamingo Coast, between Namibe and the entrance to Doodsakker. Select the exact stretch according to fishing, weather, sea conditions and safe access.
Complete the Doodsakker / Death Acre section when tides and beach conditions allow safe passage, then continue towards the Cunene River Mouth. Fishing on arrival depends on timing and conditions.
Spend a full day exploring and fishing the Cunene Mouthʼs surf and river-mouth areas. Select sessions and fishing positions around the conditions rather than a fixed clock schedule.
A second dedicated day gives the group time to respond to the fishing. Adjust tactics, try different water and make the most of the area without immediately packing up and moving on.
Travel through Iona National Parkʼs desert landscapes and return to Namibe. Overnight arrangements depend on the group; a hotel stay is not fixed.
Travel via Lubango and Santa Clara, crossing into Namibia in the afternoon. Overnight at Palmeiras Lodge, Oshikango, with a farewell evening after the ten-day Angola tour.

Remote access and changing route conditions are part of the expedition. Expect the journey, coastal access and fishing to form part of the same expedition.

The 2027 10-day self-drive fishing expedition is R13,500 per person, with an early-booking rate of R11,995 per person on the four listed departures. The 22–31 March 2027 departure is at the standard R13,500 rate. The 1–10 November 2026 departure remains R13,500 per person. Yes. The current itinerary includes Foz do Cunene with two full fishing days. Dedicated Kunene Mouth specialist departures are also available as a separate tour.
No. Fishing results depend on conditions, season, area and fish movement. No species, fish size or catch can be guaranteed.
PLAN YOUR PAYMENTS
The R1,000 per-person part-payment is credited towards your total tour price. Payment received and written confirmation reserve your booking.
Monthly instalments are available at no additional fee; amounts and dates are agreed in writing and recorded in your quotation. The full balance is due 30 days before departure for Angola, or 30 days before arrival for Namibia fishing tours and packages.
Within 30 days, full payment is required once availability and acceptance are confirmed.
