8–21 MAY 2027

Casper Lodge route variation

Day 2: Cross the border into Angola and travel through Lubango, with a planned overnight at Casper Lodge.

Day 3: Descend Serra da Leba to Namibe and continue to the Flamingo Coast.

Day 13: Return from Namibe via Serra da Leba, Lubango and Tundavala, with a planned overnight at Casper Lodge.

Day 14: Return to the border and Namibia.

Casper Lodge overnights remain subject to availability and will be confirmed in writing.

Core day-by-day itinerary

The core route below applies to the 10–23 April departure and remains the reference route for the June and September departures. The 8–21 May departure uses the Casper Lodge variation listed above. All departures remain 14 days. Timing and route sequence may change with weather, tides, border procedures and local access.

DAY 1

Palmeiras Lodge, Oshikango

Meet in northern Namibia for final preparations, vehicle checks and the tour briefing. Cross into Angola early the next day.

DAY 2

Oshikango – Serra da Leba

Cross into Angola and travel via Ondjiva, Cahama, Chibia and Lubango. Continue to the Serra da Leba area for the first overnight stop in Angola.

DAY 3

Serra da Leba – Namibe – Flamingo Coast

Descend Serra da Leba, continue through Namibe and head south towards the remote Flamingo coastline.

DAY 4

Flamingo Coast

Explore the remote coastline with beach driving and dramatic Atlantic scenery.

DAY 5

Flamingo Coast – Vanessa Shipwreck

Continue along the remote Atlantic coast, with challenging beach driving before camping near the wreck.

DAY 6

Vanessa Shipwreck – Doodsakker

Head south into the Death Acre / Doodsakker, tackling remote beach sections and camping in the coastal wilderness.

DAY 7

Doodsakker – Foz do Cunene

Reach the Cunene River mouth and explore this meeting point of river, desert and ocean.

DAY 8

Foz do Cunene exploration

Spend a full day around the river mouth, dunes and surrounding desert.

DAY 9

Foz do Cunene – Iona National Park

Head inland across vast desert landscapes and set up camp in Iona National Park.

DAY 10

Iona National Park – Lion's Cave

Continue through the remote desert interior to Lion's Cave for another wilderness overnight.

DAY 11

Lion's Cave – Colinas & Lake Arco

Travel through Colinas towards Lake Arco, with unusual rock formations and a remote overnight stop.

DAY 12

Lake Arco – Namibe

Take in the final desert scenery before returning to Namibe to rest, refuel and prepare for the highlands.

DAY 13

Namibe – Serra da Leba – Tundavala

Climb back into the highlands via Serra da Leba, then continue towards Lubango and Tundavala for mountain scenery and viewpoints.

DAY 14

Lubango / Huíla – Oshikango

Travel south through Huíla to Santa Clara, cross back into Namibia and return to Oshikango, where the expedition ends.

Payment and booking confirmation

The R1,000 per-person part-payment is credited towards your total tour price. Payment received and written confirmation reserve your booking.

Monthly instalments are available at no additional fee; amounts and dates are agreed in writing and recorded in your quotation. The full balance is due 30 days before departure for Angola, or 30 days before arrival for Namibia fishing tours and packages.

Within 30 days, full payment is required once availability and acceptance are confirmed.
